In worshipping God, do we need a good voice? A high-pitch voice? A good guitar playing skills? A spectacular drum playing skills? A generous amount of money we offer every sunday? Was being good in singing means that you are also good in worshipping? Was being good in playing different instruments will make you pleasing in God's eyes? Was offering generously every sunday will make God smile? For me, nothing is important- voice, talented hands, flowery words you say or even the money you offer- none of them is important, because God only looks in the condition of our hearts while doing those things we call is for "worship".
According to John 4:24 "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." We may fool other people, but we cannot fool God. He knows what is in our hearts.
Last saturday (October 30,2015) One Body Christian Ministries held our annual Conforming to Christ Youth Worship Night. It was a heartwarming experience to be able to worship God with the Youth in our Congregation. For me, it was the true "friendship goal" Worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth with your friends that I can call sisters and brothers in Christ.
So, what is the True Heart of Worship? It is a Heart that put Gods in the center and voices out and live out in His Glory. For me, that is the True Heart of Worship. You doesn't have to be good in anything for you to be called a "worshipper", you doesn't necessary have to be a part of your music team to worship God. Whether you are just studying, working, even when you're just walking in the streets or eating somewhere, teaching young kids, or just cleaning your church as long as you do it for the Glory of God, it is worshipping.
God gave us the talents- whether it is singing, dancing, playing instruments, teaching, cleaning- for us to use it for His Glory. There is no bigger or smaller worship. It doesn't mean that some sings better than us or dance better than us, they are greater than how we worship God, it doesn't also mean that we're better than them is we're much better worshipper. God measures our heart and how genuinely we desire to worship Him.
"I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve." Jeremiah 17:10
